Apexis Engineering are delighted to welcome our 2026 summer intern into the business. Emily has joined us today to work through her summer holidays; she has just completed her first year in General Engineering at the University of Warwick.

Emily says “I am really looking forward to working at Apexis Engineering over the summer to improve my skills, there’s already some really interesting projects I am working on which I am looking forward to getting more deeply involved in over the coming weeks.”

Emily has a real interest in design engineering and is already very proficient on CAD, she’s completed some interesting work in her first year of university and also does lots at home that’s very engineering oriented including designing for 3D printing and has her own printer too!

“It’s brilliant to give the next generation of engineers real world experience in the field and I am looking forward to working on a range of projects we have on our WIP board.” says Craig

The projects cover a range of sectors, lots of different requirement (from systems to bespoke machinery designed for a specific purpose) and some much needed thinking time to solve the challenges / create the best solution.

Seleena says “I’m really proud to give students an opportunity that works for them during their break from university, I know Emily will deliver outstanding work for us and will be a really great addition to the team over the summer time. And her being a women in STEM well that just makes me super happy as a woman in engineering.”

So far Emily has spent her first year covering General Engineering and needs to choose what her focus will be for year 2 of her degree. We’re hoping to convince her that mechanical engineering is the best field and will give her lots of opportunities to see our turnkey mechanical engineering service in action.

We’re committed to giving Emily the best experience possible during her summer internship so have already given her one project to device a number of solutions for so we can present these concepts to the client. Of course she will be supported by our experience and provided the right guidance to get the best outcome for our client on this project for the building product manufacturing sector.

Whilst we’re looking forward to our summer shutdown (30th July through to 10th August) we’re looking forward to a summer that will be filled with great learnings for Emily and us as we work through some of the projects on our WIP board.
