Welcome to the April edition of Apexis Engineering’s newsletter ‘The Engineering Echo’; the question is how are we 4 months down in 2026? Time defo flies when you’re having fun!
MACH for machines
Did you get to the NEC last week for the MACH 2026 exhibition? Seleena made it there and had a good nosey around, asked 5,000 questions of the machinery people and got quite ‘motivated’ during a conversation with an OEM who has been considering offshoring then offered a conversation with them here at Unit 5 to see if we can support them keeping their manufacturing here in the UK. It was nice to see a number of big manufacturers who’d given their teams time to go and walk the NEC halls during this exhibition.
Closed on Monday
Probably no shock to hear that Unit 5 will be closed on Monday the 4th of May 2026 for the bank holiday (everything crossed for sunshine as Craig has got the BBQ ready to fire up this weekend!).
‘Bespoke is best long term’
These aren’t our words above!
These are the words of a senior engineering manager we’ve worked with on multiple projects when they visited us for more projects they’d like us to work on.
The reason they could share those words with us is because they’ve seen the machinery that we’ve designed in long term use across various sites.
Our aim is to ALWAYS supply machinery that performs well, has a long life, is easy to maintain and does what it should.
So it was nice to hear those words said to us.
Always board
For those of you who’ve worked with us for concept / design options you’ll know that we use our trusty whiteboard to get the ideas out of engineering brains and conversations flowing internally.
In this instance we’re working on a project that’s started with the concept; there was an element within the thinking time that Craig needed to work through.
By drawing things on the board it gives an opportunity to talk through the idea, allow questions to be asked (Seleena’s good at questions in case you’ve missed that!) and things to be rubbed out to get to the best solution.
The concept has been modelled in CAD and presented to our client with our confidence so we can move to the next stage of detailed design and creating manufacturing packs.
Concept to completion in action.
Support from Apexis Engineering
If you’ve got a project you’d like to discuss with us please reach out to Seleena (info@apexisengineering.co.uk or 01332 419220).
As a reminder we offer a full turnkey services for bespoke machinery, custom plant and tailor made equipment from design through to installation (or concept to completion in our words!).
Apexis Engineering can also help with assembly projects and manufacturing of components or full machines – whether you need a one off or a continuous supply.
We make it happen whatever your project is.
PS we’ve had an outside revamp and it’s looking smart!
